About Me

I am an interdisciplinary artist and researcher local to Huntsville, AL. My career has given me many opportunities to work on projects with organizations like indie co-ops, government agencies, universities, and non-profits. I work from my home studio and focus on feminist themes of socioeconomic equity and domestic violence.
Art plays a critical role in shaping our perspectives about the world. I use my understanding of systems architecture and a folk education in traditional crochet techniques to question how common patterns can be recontextualized. I would love to connect with you about art or research at amanda@amandarbanks.com.
